Shirley Lebovics, LCSW

Educational Background

My undergraduate degree is from the California State University Northridge, where I majored in psychology and special education. I attended the graduate program in Clinical Social Work at the University of Southern California. My clinical training was at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute and at Jewish Family Services, where I developed an expertise in offering individual and family therapy. I am licensed by the California State Board of Behavioral Science.

Treatment Approach

I have been in private practice for over thirty-five years. I see children, teens, adults, and couples of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures.

My treatment centers on a warm, caring, and personalized style. Working one-on-one, or with couples, I take a holistic approach that focuses on the entirety of wellbeing. Therapy is in tandem with client’s input and personal goals, where physical health and environment, as well as thoughts, feelings and behaviors are explored to facilitate healing. Clients develop lasting coping skills that empower personal strengths, foster self-confidence, build relationships, and manage challenges. Sessions are focused and are interactive so that clients make gains quickly. A successful therapy experience leads to a fulfilling, inspirational and satisfying life.

Depending on the particular struggle a client is experiencing, we apply specific treatment interventions that are a good match for their needs, for example CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Psychodynamic Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, etc.
